Solana’s latest meme coin, Maneki (MANEKI), has taken the meme market by storm, surging over 30,000% since its launch and gaining 45-50% in the past 24 hours alone.

According to blockchain tracking platform Lookonchain, seven wallets, potentially linked to the same individual, acquired 44.9% of the total MANEKI supply within one minute of its launch. These wallets spent 3,388 SOL (approximately $525,000) to purchase 3.99 billion MANEKI tokens, which were then distributed across nearly 100 new wallets without any selling.

The Maneki team had initially allocated 10% of the total 8.88 billion MANEKI supply for a community airdrop. However, some participants have reported not receiving their promised tokens.
The team has addressed these concerns, stating that they are still processing the airdrop rewards to ensure all participants receive their allocated tokens.
Solana “Chapter 2” smartphone pre-order customers have also benefited from the MANEKI hype.
These customers received airdrops of both MANEKI and another Solana meme coin, MEW, which could potentially offset the $450 cost of the phone. As of Thursday morning, the combined value of the airdropped tokens stood at $459, exceeding the phone’s original price.
